The small East Devon town of Budleigh Salterton has one enormous car park to the east of the town centre, a smaller one actually in the centre of the town and two car parks to the east one of which, remarkably, is free! Added to all these is a tiny 17 space free car park (2 hours) just off the main High Street.
Budleigh Salterton is, unsurprisingly, a busy seaside town in the summer. This web site should hopefully offer you some help in finding a parking space.
The first thing to mention here is the centre of the town along the high street is a terrible bottle neck with cars being allowed to park for 30 minutes for free on one side of the road and not enough room for two cars to pass in what remains of the road!
For this reason you are better off to come in to the town following the Budleigh Salterton signs for the main Lime Kiln car park or Rolle Mews car park (electric car charging possible), Brook Street car park, or follow the signs for Knowle and Exmouth for the Station Road car parks (including the free one). Please note the station no longer exists!

There is street parking along the sea front on Coastguard Hill up towards Lime Kiln Car Park where you can pay to park for a maximum of 2 hours.
Lime Kiln Long Stay Car Park Budleigh Salterton
A 411 space long stay car park on the eastern side of the town. If you are planning to stay for the day then this car park is probably your best option.
Rolle Mews Short stay Car Park Budleigh Salterton
A 56 space car park which also offers rapid charging for electric cars, Maximum stay is four hours but free after 6 p.m.
Lower Station Road Short stay Car Park Budleigh Salterton
A 37 space car park which also has public toilets on site. Whilst it is deemed short stay you can actually stay here all day but it will be dearer that the car park in the centre of town (Rolle Mews). Free after 6 p.m.
"Upper Station Road FREE Car Park" Budleigh Salterton
Having around 100 spaces this is the car park that they like to keep secret because due to some strange anomaly it is free to park here! Now, as you can imagine, finding a space is very much a case of pot-luck but you never know.....

In line with a lot of town centres in East Devon there is 30 minute parking available in the streets in the centre of the town.
